Special Event update

Bacchus Marsh Invitation Run with the Bay City Chrysler Club Sunday 17th  May.

This run will take us to picturesque Bacchus March for lunch, and then
onto St Annes winery early afternoon.

The Chrysler Restorers Club will have met outside of Melbourne and made
there way to Bacchus Marsh stopping at the Jeff Jones wayside produce
outlet along the Avenue of Honour (Melway 334, ref. B7), at approx. 10.15.
This will allow members to purchase a range of fresh fruit and vegetables.
Bayside members can either meet us here, or go direct to Maddingly Gardens
in Bacchus Marsh.

Maddingly Gardens is an old style gardens with an amazing playground for
the kids. There is cover in case the weather is not too good, however you
should BYO table and chairs. There are no BBQs available. All those who
had stopped at the produce stop should have arrived here by 10.45 and will
be parking in Bond Street (Melway 333, J10).

I have arranged for Marsh Classic Restorations, which is a one minute
walk from where we have parked our cars, to open their doors and show us
around. They specialise in Austin Healey’s and other sports cars and will
be open from 11.00 to 12.00.  Note, the proprietor will not be able to
confirm this opening until a week prior.

We will have lunch at the gardens, after which we will leave Bacchus Marsh
at 1.30pm for St Annes Winery in Myrniong, which is approximately 15 klms
through the Pentland Hills.  The winery offers normal wine tastings and
sales, but also has extensive gardens and bluestone out buildings to look
over. The gardens provide a pleasant setting for afternoon tea.
BYO food, drink, kids and / or grand kids.

Note, this date is also Australian Historic Motoring Day, which is the day
nominated to get as many vintage and classic vehicles on the road at the
same time. It is designed to gain publicity for our vehicles, motoring
clubs and the events we participate in.  The target audience is the public
and government local, state and federal. All members are encouraged to
take their club car out on this day and attend an organised club event,

The only pre-requisite for joining Bay City Chryslers is that you own a Mopar bodied and or powered vehicle. Any age, classic, restored, modified, project or daily driver. We all share the same common interest of our cars.

A club run or social is organised each month and we try to find a variety of things to do such as a simple cruise, trip to a drive-in, car shows and swap meets, visiting local attractions or just having a social night out. We are always open to suggestions and cater for the members who don’t live locally, when we can, by meeting them en-route at a pre-arranged location and time.

All members get a newsletter every second month. This features all club news, coming events, articles for sale or wanted, news of our sponsors and anything we can find to interest a Chrysler enthusiast. Advertising in the newsletter is free to members.

Club meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 7.30pm. The venue for the meetings is Geelong Showgrounds on Breakwater Rd.

All members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Generally the meetings are friendly and informal and the committee is elected at the A.G.M. in August, one member only, for each membership paid, retains voting rights.  The membership fee is $30.00 a year and covers the member and their partner. Bay City Chryslers is a member club of the Federation of Veteran Vintage & Classic Vehicle Clubs Inc. and our delegates are Eddie Castello and David Brown. David also operates the club’s permit plate scheme. Contact 9742 3347 if you need further information on this.

We have our own successful car show each year, namely, ‘Chryslers By the Bay’ proceeds from which are donated to charity.

Please bear with us as we finish our new website, if you have any queries please contact webmaster@baycitychryslerclub.org.au
